This article describes the process for mapping user data to import into SchoolMint Hero for System Administrators. Faculty data must be imported at the school-level.
Note: The Faculty Data import will need 2 additional fields added manually. This means that if exporting this file from your SIS, you must edit it to add 2 fields and save it as a .CSV file, then import the file to the SFTP or upload as a flat file. Files cannot have spaces in the name. Added fields:

1. Before navigating to the Import page, go to Config > Schools and select the pencil edit icon for the school that will receive import data. Input the School ID in the Reference ID box (or ensure the ID is already entered) and click Save.
2. Navigate to the Imports page via Config > Imports. Click on Accounts in the upper right corner, then select + New Account.
3. Leave the School Group Toggle OFF and select the relevant school from the dropdown and click Create. Copy the SFTP credentials and click Close.
4. Click on the Settings button in the upper right corner. Then select New Import in the upper right corner of the next page.
6. On the Import Settings page, make the following selections for a School-level import:
- Select School Level
- Choose the correct school from the second dropdown. (The system will display a blue "Account Found" button if the SFTP setup in the previous steps was completed. If the system does not display "Account Found" please return to the beginning of these steps.)
- Select User Import
- Select One Time to import as a one-time flat file
- Enter the email address of the user doing the import.
- Save Settings
7. On the right side of the Import Settings page, select the relevant boxes:
- Has Header - Check this if the import file has a header row
- Notify On Success - Generally recommend leaving unchecked
- Enable PGP Encryption - Generally recommend leaving unchecked
- Remove Missing Records - Generally recommend leaving unchecked
8. Determine if the upload should allow for any errors. This can be useful for large files with some broken data that cannot be easily cleaned.
9. Select the file for upload.
Important: The import file name CANNOT contain spaces. For example, the file name "School import list.csv" will NOT import whereas, "Schoolimportlist.csv" will import. |
10. Complete Mapping. Save Mapping.
11. Click Queue Import.
