Event Overview
SchoolMint Hero allows users to create Events that can be used to track student attendance for school-sponsored events. This article provides a guide on configuring the Events module in SchoolMint Hero and adding students to the list.
Configure an Event Category
SchoolMint Hero comes with a default Event Category labeled “Event”. To help keep your Events organized, you can create custom categories that fit your team's needs. To do this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Config > Manage Event Categories
- Select “Create”
- Enter the name of your Event Category

Configure an Event
Once you have your Event Categories configured, you can create the actual events by following the process below:
- Navigate to Config > Events
- Select “Create Event”

Add the Event Information
- Event Name
- Event ID
- Event Category

Determine Event Logistics
- Students Must Scan Out - Do students need to scan in and out?
- Allow Multiple Entries - Can students leave and come back in?
- Open to All - Is the event open to all students or is it set to a specific list?

Select Event Time and Recurrence
- Event Recurrence
- Start Date
- Start Time
- Duration
Adding Students to an Event
Events can have lists that are locked to specific students or be open to all students. To add students to an event during configurations, you have two options: Import or Add Students.
Import

Create your CSV file with Student IDs as the first column
- SchoolMint Hero only requires this file to have Student IDs, but the import will still work if the file has additional fields.
- Import your file in SchoolMint Hero via the import pop-up
Add Students
- Select the + Student button
- Search for a student
- Select the + button
