To print physical copies of track codes in Hero, first, we need to set up our desktop printers by following just a few steps. All Hero users can configure desktop hardware.
What you need:
- A desktop printer that is connected to its power source and the computer through USB (requirements at the end of the article).
- Google Chrome, properly updated.
- Printer paper, properly installed in the printer.
Configuring the printer
1. Go to config > Select USB device:
2. A pop-up will show, prompting you to select a printer. Click on "Select Printer:
3. This will open the Google Chrome USB connection configurations to select a printer. The printer must be plugged into the computer and power source for it to show up here:

4. Once the printer is configured, it will show up on the list after clicking Config > Select USB device:

Desktop printer paper requirements:
- Width: Min. 1” (25.4 mm) – Max. 4.64” (118 mm)
- Thickness: Min. 0.003” (0.06 mm) – Max. 0.008” (0.20 mm)
- Print Length Min. 0.16” (4 mm)**; Max. 68” (1727 mm)
- Label Roll Diameter: Max. 5” (127 mm)
- Core Diameter: 1” (25.4 mm), 1.5” (38.1mm)
