Note for Legacy Users: The ability to configure tardy write-back can now be controlled entirely by you, the School Administrator. This differs from Legacy Hero, as you no longer need Cx support to configure this write-back. |
Tardy Write-Back Overview
This article provides a guide on integrating tardy data from SchoolMint Hero back into your School Information System (SIS). Each SIS will have different requirements for the export, so it's important that you identify the fields you need in the export and get those into Hero before setting up the tardy write-back.
Tardy write-back is a process in which Hero will export tardy-related data to your SIS automatically.
Identify Relevant Fields
Before setting up your tardy write-back export, you should determine which fields you or your SIS will require. You can only export fields that exist in the system. For example, if you need "Period" as a field, that has to be configured first. Learn more about Mapping Schedules for Import here.
Ensure that External Reference Codes are Properly Named
The External Reference Code for a behavior that will be used in the tardy write-back needs to match the reference code used by your SIS. Before configuring your export, ensure that external codes are correctly named.
- Navigate to Config > Behavior Codes.
- Select the pencil edit icon on the row of the relevant code
- Check that the name in the External Reference Code box matches the code used by your SIS for all codes you plan to export.
