Building Incentive Codes in SchoolMint Hero

What are Incentive Codes?

Incentive Codes are positive Behavior Codes that award points and/or positive Reactions to students when tracked. 

Some example Incentive Codes are:

• Jump the lunch line (10 pts)
• Free Ticket to Home Game (25 pts)
• Medium Item in School Store (50 pts)
• Extra Bingo Sheet (5 pts)

Building Incentive Codes

To build any type of Incentive Code, first navigate to Reactions via Config > Reactions. 

Heads Up! A Reaction needs to be created BEFORE creating a Behavior Tracking Code. This is because a default Reaction needs to be selected from the dropdown in order to save when creating a Behavior Tracking Code.

1. Create a new Reaction by selecting the green "+ Add" button in the upper right-hand corner. 
2. Name the Reaction something like "Default Incentive Reaction." Enter text in the Message on Pass box. Click Save
3. Determine which type of Incentive Code you want to build (click the link to continue):
   • Virtual Coupons
   • Special Events
   • Goals & Thresholds
   • Raffle Drawings
