What are Reactions?
- Reactions are instructions that tell the code what to do when a behavior tracking code is used.
-
Reactions have various settings, including:
- Name: What is the name of this Reaction?
- Message: Is there specific information you'd like included on the printed pass or student app about this action?
- Option to enable/disable Compliance Reactions
- Days until reaction begins: How many days should pass before this action should occur? For example, if a student is tracked on Monday, how many days later should they be expected to serve this detention?
- Limit # of students: Does this action have a capacity of how many students can attend in one day? For example, can your detention room only hold 30 students? If there is no limit, you can enter any large number that indicates that there is no cap.
- Days when reaction can happen: Which days of the week can this action be assigned? For example, if Lunch Detention only occurs on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then we want Hero to only assign Lunch Detentions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- If Compliance Reactions are ENABLED the reaction can be complied on the Compliance Report
- If Compliance Reactions are DISABLED, the Days, Limit #, and Days When boxes will NOT appear and the reaction CANNOT be complied on the Compliance Report
Heads Up! A Reaction needs to be created BEFORE creating a Behavior Tracking Code. This is because a default Reaction needs to be selected from the dropdown in order to save when creating a Behavior Tracking Code. |
Creating a Reaction
Reactions are created via Config > Reactions.
Click "Add" in the upper right-hand corner to create a new Reaction. Here, you will give the Reaction a name and write a message on the pass, if applicable.
If the Reaction should have a Compliance Reaction (meaning that it needs to be "complied" via the Compliance Report - see the next section for further guidance), you can enable a Compliance Reaction and add relevant information including:
- Days until the Compliance Reaction beings
- Student number limit
- Days on which the Compliance Reaction can take place
Click Save.
Note: You must put a number >0 in the limit box, even if the reaction doesn't have a limit.
